Teaching Respect for All is a one-day seminar that aims to provide current and prospective school teachers, counselors, social workers, and administrators with the knowledge and tools to successfully create a school culture where all people, including LGBT people, are respected, free to express themselves, and able to reach their full potential.

When: Monday October 25th
Where: University of North Florida University Center
Time: 7:30 - 3:00 PM
Cost: $20.00 per person (this includes light breakfast, lunch and a great resource packet) or $130.00 for groups of 8.

Participants will: Develop an awareness and understanding of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) diversity issues. Identify current research on school safety, bullying, harassment, and its impact on LGBT students, families, and the school climate. Identify and develop strategies to create safe, sensitive, healthy, and affirming environments for LGBT students in classrooms, and general settings. Identify and develop strategies for sensitive and appropriate interventions and advocacy when LGBT students and those perceived to be LGBT are bullied and harassed.
